Professional Mentoring & Practice Leadership

Reviews, strategies and training set direction, but someone inside the organisation usually has to carry that work forward, often without much positional power to shift the systems around them. I provide independent mentoring for the participation and children's rights leads holding that responsibility, giving them a space outside line management to think strategically, test difficult decisions, and strengthen their influence with the leaders and systems above them.

Strategic Mentoring for Participation & Children's Rights Leads:

Typically arranged as an ongoing programme of sessions (monthly or bi-monthly, over 6–12 months), mentoring gives participation leads a confidential space to work through real organisational challenges as they arise, from navigating resistance at leadership level, to deciding what to escalate and how, to sustaining momentum after a review or strategy has been agreed. Often commissioned by an organisation as a follow-on to a Participation Systems Review or strategy programme, supporting the person responsible for embedding the changes it identifies.
