Training & Workforce Development

I provide specialist training and workforce development that helps practitioners, managers and leaders translate children's rights and participation into everyday practice. With particular expertise in the Lundy Model of Participation, my approach combines theory, reflection and practical application so that learning strengthens how children and young people's knowledge is heard, understood and able to influence decisions. Using real-world case studies and participants' own practice contexts, the training explores where Space, Voice, Audience and Influence are strong, where participation can break down, and what meaningful influence looks like in practice.

Applying the Lundy Model of Participation:

Practical, rights-based training that builds understanding and confidence in applying the Lundy Model of Participation across everyday practice. The training explores Space, Voice, Audience and Influence in depth, using real-world case studies, reflection and practical application to examine what each element requires in different roles and service contexts. Participants consider not only how children and young people are supported to express their views, but how their knowledge reaches the right people, is taken seriously and can be evidenced as influencing decisions and change. The training can be delivered as a half-day, full-day or two-session programme, allowing organisations to choose the depth of learning and application that best fits their workforce.

Training is often commissioned following a Participation Systems Review, where workforce understanding is identified as a priority
